Most manufacturing units need presence of staff to function fully. Therefore, a different set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) should be applicable in this industry such as:
- Opening the business units in pre-decided phases: For example: 10% of essential employees can start working from large offices through a roster in the first phase. This can be increased to 30 % in the second phase and up to 60 % in the third phase.
- Social Distancing: Work days can be segregated as well with a fixed percentage of employees working on selected days so as to follow the rules of #socialdistancing
- Set house rules for functioning: Employees in high risk age or with underlying health conditions can be given flexible work duties.
- On-premise accommodation facilities: Larger manufacturing units can consider temporary accommodation for workers on premises to avoid travel and external contact.
