Back to School in the New Normal

Back to School in the New Normal
- If you are worried about sending your child back to school, universities or recreation/daycare centres, we have a few suggestions.
With the lockdown easing gradually and some countries announcing reopening of schools/college later in the year, many parents have been worried about the safety of their children and in-turn their families. The current pandemic has caused a major disruption in the lives of children and easing them back into old routines has to be done with proper caution and safety measures essential to adapt to the new normal. Most importantly, protect them from potential risk of Covid-19.
The below measures would help:
- Understand and review the safety measures being introduced at the institution
- Equip your child with the knowledge of the measures required to be followed at school like hand- hygiene, wearing masks, social distancing etc. It would be easier for older children to adhere to, however younger ones would require practice and guidance from both teachers and parents.
- Keep monitoring your child’s health on a daily basis
- Assess if your child is being able to cop-up with the new normal environment and the curriculum. Being in regular touch with the class teacher/professor would help. Assist them at home as needed till they get adjusted to the new learning routine.
- Lastly, encourage them to ask questions and share their thoughts and feelings
